Terms and Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions apply to this offer and must be met in full, to be eligible for payment.
1. This offer applies specifically to existing homes (established builds) that connect to the gas distribution network owned by Australian Gas Networks (AGN) in Queensland. In Queensland, AGN's natural gas network is north of the Brisbane River (use this postcode list to check eligibility). Some postcodes are only partially owned by AGN, so address eligibility should be confirmed with AGN's Customer Service Team on 1300 001 001 (Option 3). New builds are excluded from this offer. Transportable or demountable homes are classified as 'new build properties' and are not eligible for this offer.
2. Generally, a cashback is only payable if the heating appliance is a new installation, not a replacement of a previous natural gas heating appliance of the same general type. However, an exemption will be offered in 2023 under which replacement natural gas flued room heaters and replacement natural gas whole of home heating systems may be offered a heating cashback of $250. If the heater being replaced is defunct and has not worked for a minimum of the last calendar year (excluding non-usage due to renovations or property vacancy) and it is the sole natural gas heater in the property, the full $500 cashback rate may apply. In these circumstances, contact AGN’s Promotions Team on 1300 001 001 (Option 7) for pre-approval.
3. Upgrading from flued room natural gas heating or a single unflued/portable natural gas room heater to a whole of home natural gas heating system qualifies for a $500 central heating cashback. If a new (not replacement) natural gas unflued/portable heater is added to the home, the maximum rebate payable is $100.
4. Downgrading from a natural gas whole of home heating system to a flued or unflued/natural natural gas room heater will not qualify for a cashback. Similarly, downgrading from a natural gas flued room heater to a unflued/portable natural gas heater will not qualify for a cashback.
5. Limit 1 x $500 flued heating cashback and 1 x $500 central heating cashback per metered property (limits apply across AGN's previous campaigns). In cases where there is already a natural gas heating appliance installed/in use and a new (not replacement) natural gas flued heating appliance is added, the maximum cashback payable is $250. If the home already has a natural gas heating appliance installed/in use and a new (not replacement) natural gas whole of home heating system is added, the maximum cashback payable is $500.
7. If a natural gas hydronic heating system is installed and provides both home heating and hot water (i.e. dual purpose), only 1 x $500 cashback is payable.
8. To qualify for this cashback: appliance must be purchased no later than the end of the 2023 Natural Gas Cashback Period (1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023; offer extended). Eligible purchases will then have a Grace Period until 29 February 2024 to complete installation and lodge a claim for payment. No rebate will be paid to appliance installations outside of the current promotion period, unless the installation meets the Grace Period T&C of the 2022 Natural Gas Cashback Period.
9. At a minimum, a claim lodged for this offer must include a Gas System Compliance Certificate and sufficient documentation to support the supply and installation of the relevant natural gas appliance/s (more details in the 'How to claim' section below). AGN will determine whether a claim meets all the set criteria for payment, which includes verifying that the gas connection is complete and checking gas consumption.
How to Claim
It's easy to claim. Once the appliance installation is complete, use our cashback website to lodge a claim directly with us (AGN). To submit a successful cashback claim, you'll need to provide the following:
1. A copy of the Gas System Compliance Certificate.
2. An installer's invoice (e.g. from your chosen gasfitter) to cover the supply and installation of the appliance OR a proof of purchase for the appliance (e.g. purchase receipt) and an installer's invoice - in cases where you have bought your appliance independently of your installer.
3. Your gas meter number or 'Meter Installation Registration Number' (MIRN).
Approved claims will be paid as a cashback deposited direct to the nominated bank account (EFT transfer).
